Safetek Profire Welcomes Leadership Transition: John Witt to Step Back from Day-to-Day Operations

May 3, 2024 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Safetek Profire, a leading provider of fire-rescue vehicles in Canada, has announced a significant leadership transition as John Witt, Founder and President, will be stepping back from day-to-day operations. John founded Safetek Emergency Vehicles in 1993 as the exclusive dealer of Smeal Fire Apparatus in Canada. With the acquisitions of Profire Emergency Equipment in 2009 and Hub Fire Apparatus in 2023, Safetek Profire has experienced substantial growth under John’s visionary leadership.

“John Witt has been instrumental in Safetek Profire’s success, and we express our deepest gratitude for his dedication, vision, and leadership over the past three decades,” said Wayne Stevens, Vice President of Safetek Profire. “His passion for innovation and commitment to excellence have solidified Safetek Profire’s position as an industry leader, and we are eager to continue building upon his legacy.”

As part of Safetek Profire’s leadership transition, John Witt will maintain his involvement as Founder & CEO, focusing on stakeholder relations and providing strategic guidance to the company.

“I take immense pride in Safetek Profire’s accomplishments over the years, and I am confident in the company’s continued success,” stated John Witt. “As Founder & CEO, I am committed to supporting the new leadership team and contributing to the company’s ongoing growth and prosperity of our esteemed organization.”

Wayne Stevens, a trusted colleague of John Witt since 1999, is assuming the role of President at Safetek Profire and Hub Fire Engines. Having joined Safetek as Vice President in 2013, Wayne now takes on the responsibility for day-to-day operations.

“In his new role as President, Wayne brings extensive experience from his time as a firefighter, Deputy Fire Chief, and in various leadership positions within both the fire service and private business sectors,” added Witt. “With his deep background, he is uniquely positioned to drive innovation and lead strategic initiatives as we continue our mission to serve those who keep our communities safe throughout Canada.”
